The first six years of a child’s life mark their entry into the first social group beyond the family: the school. In Early Years our students will experience the transformations that will profoundly change their life. Therefore, the activities are carefully planned so that the student can develop their abilities, exercise their own way of thinking and being, feeling safe and well looked after.
At PlayPen | Ecj, the work carried out is a combination of the IEYC proposals with the strong bias of pedagogical documentation inspired by the practices of Reggio Emilia, an Italian city with a reference curriculum in education, which focuses on the learning process of each individual, as well as the group to which it belongs. Classes are entirely in English until Preschool 4, when children are introduced to two hours a week of Brazilian culture.
Purpose built external area
Developed from Canadian research on internationally tested best practices, this area encourages students’ physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.
There are five spaces used in an interrelated way: Active, Gathering, Individual, Experimental and Ecological. In this concept, equipment such as the Imagination Playground, a set of giant foam blocks, can be explored according to each child’s imagination. All accompanied by teachers.
