How to enrol
On this page, you’ll find various details about the school, a step-by-step guide on how to enrol, as well as answers to the common questions about the enrolment process. Additionally, our Admissions team is always available to help, so if you require further support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Please note: completing the registration of interest and attending a school session—be it individually or in a group event—does not constitute a commitment to enrol.
- STEP 1: REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
This is the first step in the admissions process. To complete the Registration of Interest form, please click here: Register of Interest.
If you already have children enrolled at PlayPen, we kindly ask that you complete the form regardless.
- STEP 2: SCHOOL VISIT
Once you have registered your interest, our Admissions team will contact you to arrange a visit. This is the perfect time to learn more more about our teaching programme, facilities and to ask any questions that you may have.
- STEP 3: SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
At this stage, students take part in a School Experience — an opportunity to immerse themselves in a normal school day. It is also a time in which families can become more familiar with the school and meet the teaching team. For students applying to the Final Years, a Diagnostic Assessment will be carried out. This helps our team understand where each student is in their learning journey and, if needed, develop tailored support plans.
- STEP 4: DOCUMENT SUBMISSION
At this stage, our Admissions team will register your child in the school’s internal system using the documents provided in the previous stage. You will then receive a login and password for our Parent Portal, where you’ll be asked to upload the remaining documentation needed to complete the enrolment process.
- STEP 5: SIGNING THE CONTRACT
Our school secretariat team will then validate the information and generate the contract. The document will be available for digital signature online via the Portal.
- STEP 6: ENROLMENT CONFIRMATION
The enrolment process is concluded when the first instalment of the annual fee is paid. The child’s legal guardians can generate the payment slip on the Parent Portal itself. Once this step is complete, your child’s enrolment will be officially confirmed.
- STEP 7: STARTING SCHOOL
Once the enrolment has been finalised, the student can opt into extracurricular activities and/or LABs.
- STEP 8: WELCOME MEETING
Before your child begins attending classes, a meeting will be held with our teaching team, and settling-in activities will take place to help new students feel welcome and included. Our team will be on hand to guide you through every step of this stage. Welcome to our school!

Adapting to school life
The adaptation period is an important time for new students to get used to their new environment, meet their teachers and classmates, and feel supported by their parents or guardians.
Each segment coordinator will work with families to plan an approach that best meets their child’s needs. Take a look at what the settling-in process looks like for each segment:
Early childhood education
Students must be accompanied by a guardian as they are gradually introduced to the school environment. As they begin to feel more comfortable, their time in the classroom will be extended.
Because children can be especially sensitive during this transition, it’s important that teachers have the support of a guardian to help ease any discomfort. To support the settling-in process, we kindly request guardians to avoid staying in the classroom for long periods of time. Instead, they may observe their child through the one-way mirror or wait in the reception.
Toddlers:
Children usually take about a week to fully settle into the school enrivonment.
Early Years:
Children usually take about two to four weeks to fully settle into the school enrivonment.
Elementary School (Grades 1–5):
Students will be introduced to the school gradually. Parents and carers should be available for telephone contact. It is recommended that students do not carry out any other extracurricular activities during the first week.
Middle School (Grades 6–9):
Students will be closely monitored, and if needed, guardians or carers will be updated on their child’s progress by phone.
Safeguarding
At Escola Cidade Jardim | PlayPen, we are deeply committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students and members of our school community.
Our everyday practices are permeated by a comprehensive safeguarding culture, and all staff members take part in annual safeguarding training.
We strictly follow our safeguarding policies, which include a careful admissions process to ensure the wellbeing of our whole community.
